Wave energy firm Aquamarine Power said it would begin installing its Oyster devices in the next few years, once grid nfrastructure is put in place.

Tolsta Community Development, has been established to construct the turbine
The skyline in North Tolsta on the east side of LEWIS has changed from this weekend after the tower of the community wind turbine was erected.

New turbines for Isle of LEWIS wind project
The developer, co-operative Urras Energy, has raised £705,800 in community share investment in the scheme at Ballantrushal on LEWIS.

£1.6 million bank deal for community turbine
has secured a £1.6 million loan from the Co-operative Bank which will enable its first turbine to be delivered and installed at Ballantrushal in North LEWIS later this year.

Application for Pairc Wind Farm
An application for a 205 megawatt, 57 turbine wind farm on the Pairc peninsula, Isle of LEWIS, was submitted to the Scottish Executive on 1 June 2007 by Scottish and Southern Energy.
