Aquamarine Powers Oyster wave power technology captures energy in nearshore waves and converts it into clean sustainable electricity. Essentially Oyster is a wave-powered pump which pushes high pressure water to drive an onshore hydro-electric turbine.
Oyster 1 is connected to teh grid using the EMEC Billa Croo facility Billia Croo,Stromness Orkney

AQUAMARINE POWER OYSTER 800 was grid-connected in June 2012 at EMEC’s Billia Croo test site until the test programme ended in 2015, when the company ceased trading.
