Massive hydro-electric scheme opens

Trust in legal challenge to SSE's Stronelairg wind farm
The John Muir Trust is challenging a decision by Highland councillors to raise no objection against 67 wind turbines near Fort Augustus. SSE Renewables has plans for up to 83 turbines at Stronelairg, near its GLENDOE hydro electric scheme.

Planned new hydro scheme for Lochaber
Proposed for Coire Glas, near Spean Bridge, in Lochaber, it would generate more electricity than the company's plant at GLENDOE, near Fort Augustus.
