River Dart Country Park micro hydro installation. It is a rather unusual Archimedes screw turbine. With a 4.5m head and a flow rate of 1.1 m3 a second it has a recorded peak power of 48kw (the generator is rated up to something like 60-70KW but the limiting factor is the size of the leet) and is in good favour with the environment agency because of its fish protection credentials.
