Wind Farm developed in 2 stages. 1st stage with 1 wind turbine, 2nd stage added a further 2 turbines.
(2008) Greenspan Electric’s wind turbine at Hill of Balquhindachy has been operational for a year. The Vestas 850 kW turbine generated over 2,500 MWh of green electricity over the twelve months, all of which was bought by Marks and Spencer plc to offset the power used in their Eco-store in Pollok. Over the course of the year, the turbine has offset over 2,000 tonnes of CO2 that would have been emitted by a conventional power station generating the same amount of electricity.
