Seagreen Wind Energy Limited, a joint venture partnership between SSE and Fluor, was awarded by The Crown Estate the exclusive development rights for the Firth of Forth Zone of the UK's Round 3 offshore wind farm development programme.
The Zone is located approximated 25km east of Fife and covers an area of 2,852km2 in the outer Firth of Forth. The zone has a potential installed capacity of 3.5GW which would significantly increase Scotland’s entire existing renewables capacity.

MHI VESTAS on the Isle of Wight has been selected as the preferred turbine supplier for the proposed Navitus Bay offshore wind farm.
The turbines’ 80m long blades will be made at the company’s factory, supporting the 200 local jobs currently being created there.
MHI Vestas will supply its latest V164-8MW wind turbine.
