Carno Extension (2). In 2008 an extension is to be added and designated "Carno 2" bringing the total number of turbines to 68. These will comprise 12 new Siemens 1.3MW wind turbines with a hub height of 49 m, blade length of 30 m, rotor diameter of 62 m giving a tip height of 80 m.
Carno 2 LLP was FIM’s first build in Wales. It is a joint venture with three local farmers who took the project through the planning process and then got FIM involved to assist with finance, build and operation of the project. Running since 2009 the site cost £20M to build and produces enough energy to power some 8,600 households.
