Carscreugh Wind Farm (Wind , Active) Location in the UK : Scotland, Dumfries & Galloway Type of installation: Wind on/offshore: on Turbines :18 Capacity : 15.3 MW Approx Date of 1st power generation: Jan 2014
Wind Turbines, Wind Farm, Renewable Energy, Green Power
/YES
The initial proposals featured 25 wind turbines and up to 40 PV panels. The proposed height of the turbines is 70m (6m lower than Artfield Fell) and would generate approximately 0.85MW per turbine. The proposed PV capacity is about 5kWp.
The project will be able to produce approximately 56 million units (kWh) of electricity, which would provide the equivalent of around 12,000 homes with power.
Councillors refused the bid last April due to concerns about its landscape, visual and archaeological impact.
