Tilbury Green Power (TGP): a wholly owned subsidiary of Express Energy, given the green light by Ed Miliband, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989, for its plans to generate electricity from biomass on a vacant site on Tilbury Docks.

Care needs to be taken in bulk wood / pellet storage where multiple thousand tonnes are stored together. As with massive straw / hay storage, there is a risk of spontaneous combustion, in particular where there is a risk of the stored fuel getting damp.
